Blockchain Essentials - Introduction
This course demystifies Web3 by tracing the web’s shift from static pages to participatory platforms and today’s decentralised, user-owned internet, then zeroes in on Ethereum’s role, milestones, and its move to Proof-of-Stake for efficiency and scalability. You’ll learn how blockchains secure data and enable tamper-resistant records, how smart contracts power DeFi, NFTs, and DAOs, and how wallets, accounts, tokens, gas, and exchanges work in practice . We finish hands-on: choosing a chain, setting up a dev environment, writing and testing Solidity contracts, integrating a wallet, and deploying a dApp—with compliance and continuous iteration in mind . No prior experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to build.

What you will learn
- Explain the evolution from Web1→Web3 and articulate Ethereum’s purpose, architecture, and Proof-of-Stake advantages.
- Design, write, and test basic Solidity smart contracts, then integrate them into a wallet-enabled dApp and deploy.
- Safely navigate wallets, accounts, tokens, and fees; and trace a blockchain transaction from broadcast to confirmation.
